Hey friends, it’s Football Friday and we are getting closer to playoff games!
The excitement starts every Friday for me when my phone begins to blow up with the scores from the Springlake/Earth Wolverines weekly game. My brother faithfully texts the play-by-play from the panhandle of Texas to all of the relatives down in Houston all the way over to Tennessee!

Usually when the texts start coming in, we are finishing up a tailgate for our kids and their friends before our high school’s weekly Friday night battle. Since we live close to school, I put a nice big platter of Chick-Fil-A chicken nuggets on the counter to greet the kids after school and get them started. If I had a time-lapse video of the hands grabbing off that platter as they came through the kitchen, it would be hysterical.
Did I tell you I was in charge of the 7th grade Homecoming Pre-game Family Tailgate last weekend? While some moms were at the Blow Dry Bar with their high school daughters getting ready for their first big homecoming dates, I was hanging a banner for the class of 2018 with a friend and setting up our tables under the trees in the end zone. We had a great time and it was a beautiful night. We used polka dot balloons from Party City and homecoming mums to decorate.
Our 7th grade tailgaters were served up root beer floats and solo cups of Chex Mix. It was sticky chaos, and I got super lucky with lots of helper parents including a strong, ice cream scooping dad who saved me from trying to force out vanilla for waiting throngs of 7th graders. What a fun and inexpensive class party!

I know my kids would go for mini- corny dogs! And these wraps would travel well for hungry little people too….all though I might have to remove some of the green bits to get them to actually eat it!
